Paper Policy and Guidelines

DEADLINE

The Call for Papers will run from December 15, 2016 until January 31st 2017. All applications must be received by January 31, 2017. In order to apply participants shall submit an abstract of the paper they intend to write in the case they are selected. The selection is exclusively made by the directors of each workshop. Applications are to be made through the Gulf Research Meeting 2017 website. Their decisions of acceptance or not will be transmitted to the applicants by February 20, 2017.

At registration, authors will be sent a personalized link to upload their draft papers to the GRM conference website. This will allow an electronic submission of the Draft Paper for GRM , as well as access to other participants' papers after submission deadline.

The deadline for submitting the draft version of the paper is May 15, 2017.Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the applicant’s participation in the event.

Submission of the paper signifies that the participant agrees to the GRM Participation and Copyright Agreement (click here)

LANGUAGE

All papers should be written in English language. There will be no translation at the meeting. A good working knowledge of English is essential for participation in the workshops.

PAPER FORMAT

Papers should be submitted online on GRM platform in a Word format and in a single file containing all text, graphs, cover page, etc.

Papers should have an approximate length of approx. 8,500 words or 60,000 characters with 1.5 line spacing. This includes all footnotes, references, tables and graphs.

Paper should be written in a level acceptable for academic writing and in proper English. Papers should be reviewed for language purposes prior to being submitted.

Papers should include an updated abstract of approx. 400 words.

Center Bottom
 
Headers & Footers:
No
 
Tables and Graphs:
Should be integrated and inserted at the end of the paper (Originals of Graphs to be provided)
 
Alignment:
Justified (Left and Right)
 
Pictures:
None
 
Citations:
Footnotes in Chicago Manual of Style format (avoid in-text citations)
 

PAPER COPIES

No paper copies will be provided at the meeting. Participants will be given access to the papers of other participants in the same workshop ahead of the meeting. This will allow them to produce comments on other papers during the meeting if required by the directors.

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT

Overhead projectors and projectors for Power Point presentations will be available in all workshop rooms. Participants must bring their own laptop for the Power Point presentations. No computers will be available in the seminar rooms.

FINAL SUBMISSION

Following the conclusion of the GRM, all participants will be given until September 30, 2016 for paper revision. If a sufficient number of quality papers are available from an individual workshops, these papers will be considered for publication in an edited volume by the Gulf Research Center or other publishers. If for a particular workshop this is not the case, the Gulf Research Center holds the right of first refusal and the possibility of publishing individual quality papers in a GRM Paper series.
