Travel Information

Arrival

No direct transport to and from Cambridge will be provided but assistance can be provided and taxies can be booked at their own costs and we do provide them assistance with this.

Attendance

All participants are expected to arrive by the afternoon on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 and stay until the conclusion of their Workshops on July 23, 2020. The participants are expected to attend their workshop for its whole duration. The reimbursement of the travel allowance will be subjected to this attendance.

Travel Allowance

The Gulf Research Meeting provides participants who present a paper with a travel allowance based on the country of departure. In the case of more than one author for a single paper, each co-author who attends the event will be eligible to receive a travel allowance as specified below. T he allowance is provided to help offset the travel expense and is not meant to cover the entire expense.

• Authors and coauthors based in UK GBP 100
• Authors and coauthors based in the EUGBP 150
• Authors and coauthors based in any other part of the world GBP 250

All travel allowances should be collected within two years of the date of the GRM for which they were granted. Any travel allowances not collected within this period will be forfeited.

Visa

All those participants that require a visa for the UK must request a letter of invitation from us to facilitate visa procedures. The Gulf Research Meeting is not responsible for arranging the visa. Each participant must ensure that they apply for the required visa on time and that they meet all requirements for the visa process. Participants shall inquire about the period needed for visa obtainment as soon as they are informed of their selection in order to avoid last minute participation cancellation linked to visa issues.

Accommodation

Participants pay for their own accommodation. There will be different price categories to choose from. Accommodation options will be available at the University of Cambridge and will include both en-suite and non en-suite facilities. All available rooms will be within walking distance of the meeting venue. Failure to show up for the meeting will result in cancellation fees. Cancellations must be communicated at least one week prior to arrival. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO EITHER THE TRAVEL ALLOWANCE SYSTEM OR THE ACCOMMODATION RULES
