Dr. Abdullah Baabood

Chair of the State of Qatar for Islamic Area Studies and Visiting Professor, Faculty of International Research and Education

Dr Abdullah Baabood is currently a visiting professor at the Middle Institute, National University of Singapore and he has previously held the positions of the Director of the Gulf Studies Center at Qatar University and the Director of the Gulf Research Center at the University of Cambridge, UK. Abdullah’s teaching and research interest focus on the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and their economic, social and political development as well as their external relations. Abdullah holds a master’s in Business Administration (MBA), a master’s in International Relations (MA) and a Doctorate in International political Economy (PhD) at Cambridge University.

  • Note there is no deadline to register as a listening participant. However, seats are limited in each workshop and registration for non-paper presenters will be allowed on a space available basis.
